What are the tricks on paper cup machine surface treatment?
1. Blackening
Standard Process
Uniform black oxide film formed via chemical oxidation, sealed with oil for anti-rust, matte finish. Used for internal shafts and gears.
Common Tricks
- Shorten process time, thin & weak oxide layer
- Skip sealing/oiling, easy to rust
- Incomplete pickling, coating peels off easily
2. Electroplating
Standard Process
Uniform coating (Zn/Ni/Cr) via electrolysis, proper pre-treatment & passivation, good anti-rust & wear resistance.
Common Tricks
- Insufficient coating thickness, quick rusting
- Skip pre-treatment, blistering & peeling
- No passivation, poor corrosion resistance
- Low-quality chemicals, uneven color
3. Powder Coating
Standard Process
Sandblasting pretreatment, electrostatic spraying + high-temperature curing, tough & durable coating.
Common Tricks
- No pretreatment, poor adhesion
- Use recycled/low-grade powder, easy to fade
- Insufficient curing, soft & scratchable coating
- Too thin coating with pinholes, inner rust
4. Painting
Standard Process
Primer + topcoat + baking, strong adhesion & good anti-rust performance.
Common Tricks
- Skip primer, rust penetrates quickly
- Over-diluted paint, poor coverage
- Air-dry instead of baking, low hardness
- Insufficient coats, rough surface
5. Anodizing
Standard Process
Dense anodized film with qualified thickness & sealing, wear-resistant & colorfast.
Common Tricks
- Too thin oxide layer, easy to scratch
- Low-quality dye, fades in sunlight
- No sealing, absorbs oil & dirt
6. Heat Treatment
Standard Process
Standard quenching for gears & rollers, high surface hardness & good toughness.
Common Tricks
- Low temperature & short time, low hardness
- Only surface treated, easy to break
- Shallow nitrided layer, short service life
- Ordinary steel instead of alloy steel
7. Polishing
Standard Process
Rough → fine → mirror polishing for molds & rollers, smooth for clean cup forming.
Common Tricks
- Only rough polishing, rough surface
- Skip mirror finish, easy sticking & burrs
- Unqualified roughness, fast wear
Summary
Surface treatment is not just appearance. It determines:
- Rust & paint resistance
- Wear resistance of key parts
- Quality of paper cups (smooth, no burrs)
- Machine service life & stability
Lower price often means cut corners, leading to higher failure rates and maintenance costs.
