Surface Treatment for Paper Cup Machines: Standard vs. Cutting Corners III

5. Anodizing

Standard Process

Dense anodized film with qualified thickness & sealing, wear-resistant & colorfast.

Common Tricks

- Too thin oxide layer, easy to scratch
- Low-quality dye, fades in sunlight
- No sealing, absorbs oil & dirt

6.  Heat Treatment

Standard Process

Standard quenching/nitriding for gears & rollers, high surface hardness & good toughness.

Common Tricks

- Low temperature & short time, low hardness
- Only surface treated, easy to break
- Shallow nitrided layer, short service life
- Ordinary steel instead of alloy steel

7. Polishing

Standard Process

Rough → fine → mirror polishing for molds & rollers, smooth for clean cup forming.

Common Tricks

- Only rough polishing, rough surface
- Skip mirror finish, easy sticking & burrs
- Unqualified roughness, fast wear
